My true selling days started back in highschool. Our youth group once had a candy bar fundraiser. I was amazed how fast and easy the candybars sold. After the fundraiser ended, I started selling candy on my own. I would go to the local Dollar General store and buy them for .25 and sell them for .50. I later added the small bags of chips that cost .25 then and sold those for .40. It was a great way for a highschooler to make some money without finding a afterschool job.
I started selling on ebay in 2007. We had found out we were expecting our third child when our 2nd was only 7 months old. I had recently quit my part time job that I had held on to mainly for insurance purposes. In order to ease the financial cost we knew we were going to incur, I finally decided to take the plunge into the world of ebay. Since then, I have continued to sell on ebay and branched out to selling on craigslist, a few local yahoo selling groups, and particpating in yard sales with friends. While I haven't gotten rich off of it, I"m currently saving for a big family vacation to Disney World this fall. My goal is to save up $4k and I'm well over halfway to my goal.
