Finding Things in your Home to Resell-Bathroom
As I get ready for my garage sale this weekend, I've been going from room to room pulling out items that have no use for me anymore or perhaps that I use, but I'm ready to update or change slightly. Today, I worked in my half bath and my girls bathroom.
It's amazing what you can find in bathrooms to sell that you might not think about. I pulled out a bunch of glass vases, really how many bouquet of flowers do you get at once? What about hair supplies. I found a huge stash of pony tail holders, headbands and combs that I had bought and never used. I know this may seem weird to many people, but this is always a great seller for me, is hair or bath supplies that you have used, but no longer want? Half bottles of perfumes, shampoo's, lotions. I dug out a couple of tubes of diaper rash ointments, baby lotions and washes, hand soap. I also plan on putting some bottles of perfume that I liked at one time but now are just collecting dust.
What about old bath toys? I throw alot of our old toys away, but there are some that just got stored for future use. Old shower curtains, bathroom rugs, towels, or hanging caddies. I"m a couponer, so I always have stockpile of toothpaste, toothpaste, and other supplies that I sell and are usually the first to go.
Just remember to think outside the box when prepping for a yard sale. Also, some of those items (usually only new) go good on ebay as well. I've sold new bottles of perfume, the whitestrips, as well as other supplies on Ebay and made a decent profit.

Nike Shox
I bought a pair of used Nike Shox with the intentions of putting them on my youngest. I think I waited to long to put them on her and she complained about them hurting her feet. Luckily, I only paid around .75 for them. I think I would have had a good turn around on ebay, but I sold them on Craigslist for $15.00.

SwagBucks
Today is Mega Swagbucks Friday on Swag Bucks! You could win 100, 200 or more Swag Bucks!
Not a member of swagbucks? Join HERE
Swagbucks is a search engine that awards you in the form of Swagbucks (points that can be traded in for prizes.) You can chose from a variety of prizes including gift cards. You get Swagbucks for joining and can win different amounts throughout the day just by searching like you would. They also have Swagcodes out at throughout the week that can be worth 5 – 30 Swagbucks.
My favorite prize is the $5.00 Amazon Giftcards. They "cost" 450 swagbucks, which doesn't take long to accumlate. I started doing swagbucks in late November/early December and was able to get $25.00 in the first month from searches and a few referrals. My goal for this year is to earn $25 a month in Amazon giftcards through November in order to have $275 worth for Christmas shopping. What's your goal?

Finding Things in your Home Resell-Kitchen
Do you have the desire to make some quick cash? Reselling has been the quickest way I have found to get some spare change. While I will admit, at times it can be time consuming, but for the most part I can get things together and listed while my children nap or are watching a movie.
If your looking for things to resell and feel like you have no where to start, look around you. It's amazing how much stuff we have lying around our house that has no use for us and is just clutter. Selling things you already own is also a good way to get started if money is tight. It usually requires no upfront cost, so no stretching your dollar just to round up a few things. The first thing I sold on ebay was a scrapbooking album I had bought a year or so before. I loved it at the time of purchase, but eventually realized I was probably not going to use it. I sold it on ebay for over $50.
Let's start with the kitchen. Do you have cookbooks you don't use anymore? How about eating or cooking utensils? Cookware that you haven't used in ages or perhaps you've upgraded to a new set and the old one is still taking up space in your cabinet? In our last home, we had a much bigger kitchen. We had our microwave sitting on a cart. Our current home has no place in the kitchen for such an item, so it sits in our dining room. I listed it once on Craigslist and had lots of bites, but then in the end decided I wanted to hold on to it a little longer. I"m hoping to part ways with it this summer. Do you have a cart or shelf that your not using anymore?
What about dishes. Have you bought a new set, but the pieces from your last set are still hanging around? Are you embarrassed to admit you bought that cooking gadget off tv and its been sitting around collecting dust? I have a sandwich maker that I never use and probably won't ever because we are a family of 5 and it only makes one sandwich at a time. Think outside the box. Walk around, open cabinets, drawers, look under the sink. You probably have way more then you thought or care to admit.

Vocal Point
Have you joined Vocal Point? This is technically not a site where you will make any money, but they send out awesome coupons for products. I've gotten Free, Buy One Get One, and High Value coupons from them. In my mind, if I budget $50 for groceries and I can save $10 with coupons, that is $10 I can use on something that we may not have done otherwise. Sign up HERE

Keen Shoes
I only learned about Keen shoes in the last year or so. Shortly after reading about them, I ran across a pair of toddler girls at a yard sale for .50. They were in decent shape, but I did run them through the washing machine before I listed them on ebay. They ended up selling for over $24.00. Hoping to run across a few pair this summer while hitting up garage sales.

Sit and Stand Strollers
Sit and Stand strollers are very popular amongst moms with babies and toddlers. They are a nifty stroller that allows for a child to be in an infant car seat or to sit in a normal stroller type seat. On the backside of the stroller is a platform and another seat that's bench style. I rarely see them at garage sales and if I do they usually not very cheap.
One day last summer I went to a sale that had a Sit and Stand in excellent condition. I paid $10.00 which was a steal. Sold it 4 days later on Craigslist for $75.00. This would make a great item to sell locally if you come across one cheap enough.

My Selling Goals
A year and a half ago I decided I really wanted to go back to Disney before our youngest turned 3. My hubbie was on board with this, but we knew this wouldn't be a cheap trip. I then decided that I would start trying to reguarly sell things on the side to help fund our trip. I'm really hoping to fund 90% from selling things on ebay, craigslist, and having yard sales. We've also been adding money that I've earned from doing survey's, cash rewards from our credit cards, and other extra money we received from gifts. By May 1st I hope to be 3/4 of the way to our goal of $4,000.

Mindfield Online
One of the ways I earn cash is doing surveys through Mindfield Online. I joined there about 3 months ago and have earned $13.00 from surveys and a few referrals. Over the last month, I've fallen off doing survey's so I think my earnings could be higher. You can cash out after $5.00. Most of the survey's take about 10 minutes, but ones that pay higher amounts take a little longer. The surveys I have completed paid between $1.00 to $3.00. You can also earn $1.00 from each person that you refer that signs up.
If you decide to sign up, try to work on filling out the questionnaire on the main page. By having those filled out you are given more opportunities to complete surveys based on your answers. I defintely saw an increase in screeners when I took the time do it. If you would like to sign up click HERE.

Crest White Strips
I picked up two boxes of Crest Premium White Strips at a local drugstore. One expired a month from when I bought, the other later in the year. With coupons, I paid $1.75 for each box. I listed each box seperately, on ebay and both boxes combined sold for almost $47.00.

Pedipeds
Pedipeds are brand of childrens shoes. I've loved them from the first time I saw them, but they can be a little pricey.
One day I lucked into these 2 pairs at a garage sale. I ended up buying 5 different pair of shoes from this lady and talked her down to $10.00 for the lot. I listed these two pairs of ebay and they both sold for a little over $22.00 a pair.
