Scrapbooking Albums

I'm a scrapbooker, so I know how much items for this hobby can cost.  I have purchased new and used many scrapbooking supplies and sold them as well.  I have sold many Creative Memories albums on Ebay.  The sizes I have sold have included 12x12, 8x10 and 7x7.  They have all sold for a decent profit.  Recently Creative Memories revamped the sizing of their albums.  The old style albums are still very popular and sell very well.  My first sale on Ebay was a 12x12 album that was only made available to consultants.  I purchased it from someone and paid $10 for it and it sold for over $50.  Keep an eye out for these at garage sales and on Craigslist.  They are usually worth the investment even if are out of the original packaging.

Blog Distribuitor

A friend recently told me about Blog Distributor.  It's a site that offers paid posting.  I signed up about a month ago and have written 4 post.  The thing that I like about this site is the post are super easy.  Most of the posting I've done had to have a minimum of 96 words, which is basically a good paragraph.  Their only requirement is that it has a keyword in the title, as well as somewhere in the post.  After you post is approved they give you link to put where the keyword is.

The bad thing about this site is the post are usually off the wall stuff for my blog.  Most of it I try to tie it myself, but there are some that make it impossible, so I usually pass on those.  The pay is only $4.00 per post, but it takes me literally less then 5 minutes to write up the post, submit it, and then add the link after approval.  I haven't cashed out on this site yet, so not sure how all that will work, but if your looking for a way to generate a little income for a blog you have, this might  be a good start till you big time!

Freebie for Garage Sale

I love to coupon.  If I can get anything free or dirt cheap, then I will buy it to throw in my garage sale pile.  New items are usually one of my hot tickets when I host sales.  In the 10/10 Redplum there were coupons for $1/1 any Reach Dental Floss.  My Walmart sells these for .94 a package.  I got 30 of these last spring and they all sold.  I priced them at .50 a package.

Sunshine Rewards

Earn Cash Back at Sunshine Rewards

I've mentioned on here Sunshine Rewards.  I joined earlier in the year, then back in July I hit it hard to earn a few giftcards for our Disney trip.  During that month I was able to earn enough to cash out for two $25.00 Disney giftcards.  They were nice to use on our trip and wish I had pushed a little bit harder.  I'm trying to get  back in the habit of doing it again.  I probably won't push it that hard, but if I can earn at least 1 giftcard a month I would be happy.  They offer Disney, as well as other giftcards and even paypal as a payout method.  They have different ways of earning money on the site, but I just try to stick to the surveys.  There are 6 you can do daily and they are listed under Survey's on the site.  If you never signed up you can do so HERE.  You earned $2.00 just for signing up.  Last week I earned, a little over $10.00 over 3 days and that wasn't doing all 6 surveys daily.

Selling Guy stuff

When its time to upgrade stuff, my husband is usually ready to just pitch stuff.  I always try to determine whether there is any resell value in it.  Even if we just got a few bucks off of it, its better then throwing it and in the trash.  Throwing it away means more stuff in a landfill, selling it offers it a new life to someone else and me a few extra dollars.

Today, was my most recent sell of this kind.  We recently replaced the tires on our van.  There was life left in them, but we were going on a road trip and they needed to be changed by this winter anyways.  When my husband went to get new ones, I told him that I wanted the old ones back to sell.  He thought I was nuts, but brought them back anyways.  I listed them and didn't get much response on them.  Finally yesterday (about 3 weeks), someone contacted and bought them today for $50.  That's not much money, but better then the cash we wouldn't have made had we let the tire place dispose of them.

I also sold a blower that we had.  It wasn't really working, so my husband just bought a new one.  We had this one for almost 10 years and it was time for a new one.  He was going to throw it away, but I got $5.00 out of it at a yard sale.  I was completely honest with the guy that bought it, but if you knew what you were doing one probably could have gotten it going again.

Ebay has 1 cent Auctions

Until the 15th, Ebay has 1 cent auctions.  This has motivated me to get back into listing this week.  I relisted a few things last week, but they haven't seen much action.  Hoping to relist things tonight and then go shopping at my favorite store tomorrow to see what other goodies I can find.   This is a great time to try Ebay out.  I love low or no listing fees.  Gives me the opportunity to try out things I'm unsure about selling.

Selling Kid Gear

If your looking for another option to sell your unwanted kid items, a kid sale might be just what your looking for.  This weekend I partcipated in a kid stuff sale.  I've done a few sales that are set up this way.  You rent a  booth, set your items up (you have time the night before as well as the morning of the sale) and you man your own booth.  Shoppers pay at individual booths, so that gives them the chance to ask questions or bagain with you (which I found doesn't happen that often).
I've never participated, but I have read about consignment sales where you tag, drop off your items, and then pick up your leftovers (or donate them) after the sale and a check is mailed to you.  These sales usually charge 20% to 30% commission.  These sales are great for people who don't really have the desire or time to sit for a few hours.

I prefer the first.  I don't mind taking my morning to man a booth.  Doing it with a friend makes the it more enjoyable and the time pass faster.  This weekend I particpated in a sale and made a little over $80 and my friend made $100.  Neither of us had prepped much for the sale and were extremely happy with the profit.  I sold mainly clothes, she had sold mainly equipment.  My friend was in charge of orgnizing this sale, I helped a little on the side.  If you are interested in organizing one, feel free to ask how this was organized.  The proceeds from this sale (booth rental fees and bake sale) supported the Mom's and Children's ministry at th church it was held at.

Blog Hop

I'm particpating in Meet Me Monday..check it out!

10 cent Auctions on Ebay

I just came across this...through tomorrow October 7th, Ebay has .10 auction style listing fees regardless of the starting price.  I was hoping to get a few things listed tomorrow.  I think this will be my motivation for the Halloween costumes I still want to list.

Polo Shirts

Before my trip, I sold a ton of stuff on ebay. I was buying and listing things I might usually overlook just because I didn't want to cost of buying the item and listing (espeically if it didn't sell or sold low). I picked these 2 shirts up at my trusty ol' Goodwill Outlet. I paid about .70 for both together. They sold for around $18.00. I was very happy, but surprised that two used shirts would go for that much. So, keep looking for kids name brand items. I've had great success with them on ebay (and Craigslist).
